Phew! I found my poem. Argh! But I forgot to save it so now I have to type it out!!!

Ode to the black jersey'd warriors (ok,ok, corny and lame title)

Echoes of the whistle flow
wielding a double edg'd sword,

OK, give you guys a break. there's actually more but I shall show you mercy!!! This was actually written after we lost the semis to IJ. I actually wrote another poem on my poor sports shoe. Oh, and I was bored when we had a free block so I wrote a funny poem on... you'll never guess...never, I tell you...I wrote...on....on...

The finals, are over, but our journey on as a team, continues. Perhaps, we have lost. Perhaps, we have not fulfilled our fullest potential. Perhaps, we have let Victory slip past us in the time of 5 mins. Perhaps, we have stumbled and lost our footing. Perhaps, our dreams were dashed in the sounding of the whistle.
Tears, invade the eyes. Unable to restrain. Unable to hold it. Unable to blink away. Unable to keep it inside. Unable, to turn back the wheel of Time.
Silent. All unable to utter. All fighting against the constant welling, that threatens. Heads bent low, in the deep sorrow of lost. Side by side, silent. Trying to fill up the gaping hole, deep inside.
I do not remember the exact words, by it goes along the line of...
"Why are you crying? You can cry only if you feel that you have let your nervousness overcome you on court. Not because you have lost. It has not ended yet. You still have the nationals. I hope this is not your sneak preview of the nationals."
With this, and a rather strong "Raffles!", spoken in cracked voices, we re-enter, to face the light...

Fortes et liber. Strong and free.
Strong in withstanding the challenges ahead, free in letting go of defeats.

Maybe, this incident has its own goods. Similarly to Jem in To Kill A Mockingbird, he faces the traumatic experience whereby Tom Robinson is wrongly accused and is disillusioned by the fact that Justice does not always prevail. But in the end, is able to move on, and gain a more matured perspective without losing his hope and optimism and belief in the basic good of humanity.
Similarly this experience has 'traumatised' me. But prepared me to facing bad results with courage and more optimism. Such that the next day when I got my Higher Chinese paper back, I didn't cry[and was glad that i passed it] compared to when I was a sec one, and cried when I got my Nature of Science... And this was due to the magnitude of the match and the amount of meaning and importance it has to the entire team, that not doing well for a test seemed peanuts.

P.S. I just realised that I wrote 8!! points for Geog when you only needed to write 6. No wonder I had no time... As in I wrote 6 points for against coz I forgot that it was 6 points in TOTAL!!!

Hello! The blog's breathing its last soon(cannot type the word since its still chinese new year.=)).
Summary
First game: Beatty.
We played rather well, 53-5 (around there. I only remember 48 goal difference)

Second Game: Bendemeer
We played very badly. Mispasses and everything. 36-9.

Third Game: Bishan Park(today)
We played really very well. Biggest goal difference in our 3 games, 53-1. (53 or 56?)

Fourth game: Outram. (this thursday)

Today: Raffles v.s. Bishan Park (obviously its Raffles Girls' I don't think that there's a raffles institution netball team. Imagine...)
1st Quarter: Good start. 15-0. Wan Ting had a good screen and Ivalyn and Polly managed to squeeze out a break(no running of Chelsea) because of that. Didn't really expect Miss Chng to agree, but yeah!!! But its only after tournament.
Second Quarter: 10-1
Well, Zhenjia was a bit abnormal. Shooting got a bit off-target. But, overall, a good game.
Third Quarter: 11-0
I played GS!!! The defenders must be super relieved. Their shooter dropped by a head(but i'm still taller than both of them=)). I hate being sandwiched. But, Polly's the worse off. She got elbowed, pushed, kicked. And, the defender intelligently 'kicked' Polly with her already bandaged up knee, then fall, then start crying, then act like we injured her. Intelligent people do intelligent things.
Fourth Quarter:
Played really well. 16-0
Zhenjia came back!!! Shooting PRO! Great defence and stuff.

That's all. Nothing interesting happened, except Ivalyn's shoes being mistakenly taken by WanTIng. And Wan Ting already went off...

Actually, now that i think of it, its kind of cheesy. But, its written in my favourite style, which can get quite confusing at the start...Actually, its not really that great.

Our footsteps pounded against the ground, the temperature was rising rapidly and they could feel the heat seething through the soles of our shoes, baking our feet. The trees were bent doubled over, wilted. The air smelt of perspiration and the acrid smell of burning smothered my nose. The heat was practically bouncing off surfaces, and our vision became a shaking blur as the air started to quiver with a life of its own. The silver spaceship was hovering above the smoking ground just a short distance away and the number on the neon green screen flashed a terrible, fifty-four.
“Ready to land in five, four, three, two, one.” Brian spoke precisely into his micro-speaker. He retracted the silver screen which absorbed the sun’s ultraviolet rays and protected the giant Plexiglas transparent screen when he broke into Earth’s atmosphere in a plunging drive straight through. As the screen folded itself neatly into halves, his heart stopped beating for a second. The charcoal black ground stretched desolately for miles around, solemn and still as an abandoned graveyard. Not a single architecture was standing, not a single sign of its past lively inhabitation survived. Instead, remnants of the devastation were present in every inch of the earth. Brian choked back an anguished cry, feeling a tight constriction in the pit of his stomach and a hollow feeling tingling in his heart. He took in a deep breath before placing his left hand on the sensor for the metal door to slide open.
Mom and Dad looked at each other, a resigned yet determined expression flashed across their faces. With only fifty-four kilograms of weight more to be held before the spaceship overloads, they both reached a silent consensus. They each grabbed one of my hands and clutched it tightly. Mom lifted her favourite necklace off her neck and placed it around mine. It had their engagement rings on it. The metal doors to the spaceship slid open, and Dad pushed me in.
“Take care, Son. And remember that we will always love you.”
Dust particles floated around aimlessly, and the scorched ground still gave off vibes of heat. The atmosphere was still, lifeless, empty, filled with lost. Brian scrutinized his surroundings, unable to believe that this was the place where he had spent the fifteen blissful and carefree years of his life. He glanced ahead, and saw an image before him seemingly formed by the dust particles dancing in the air, the image of him and his father washing the car, splashing water on each other, laughing, grinning, and shouting. He stared fixedly at the image, forgotten memories hitting him full force in a gushing tidal wave. Only the sound of static filling his ears pulled him back into reality.
“Is everything running smoothly?”
“Yes. I am collecting the samples now.”
He bent down and pushed the bottle-like computerized data storer into the ground and pressed a button to suck the earth into the bottle before sealing it with a swift deft movement of the hand. He strode around, searching for signs of any surviving items. In a corner not far off, he spotted a deep shade of orange midst the black. He picked his way over, and realized that it was a melted and hardened pile of something.
There was a familiar thud, growing increasingly louder, a basketball pounding against the court, and basketball shoes squeaking at each swift change in direction. Loud cheers echoed around him, shouts of encouragements wrapped themselves around his mind, and coach’s incessant shouting filled his ears. Tiny, rough dots brushed themselves against his skin. He shook his head, and collected the sample.
Brian collected his last sample, and reached the final stage of his mission. Extracting a small piece of silver chip from his spacesuit external holder, he dug a small hole in the ground and placed it inside the hole. The chip would keep track of any climatic changes or further explosions and send the information back to planet Burklyn. He hesitated before taking out a necklace and clutched it in his hands in a solemn prayer before dropping it beside the chip. He smoothed the ground lovingly and his vision started to blur as struggling tears pushed their way through.
The doors slid close in a dead thud, as though the church bells that rung for my heart wrenching lost, and the tears I held back began to flow. Tiny trickles flowing slowly in streams became released dams of pouring water. I clutched at the necklace around my neck and could only choke out a soft whisper, “I love you too.” The spaceship lifted up from the ground rapidly, and as it burst through the atmosphere, the tremendous explosion from below, streaked ruthlessly through my heaving sobs.

Ha ha. Don't tell you the ending. Its quite lame. The italics are memories. And how they end decides how the next paragraph starts/end. Like the doors slide open(italics) then it ends with the door slide open.
That's all. Got to vet more proposals now....and help a particular friend in need of literature help.

Yeah, Zhenjia, hardly anyone's posting...its always the same few us. And, yup! Playing GA is tiring especially if you like me, as Miss Tan says, "run all the way to China" and back again.
China= the transverse line to the defending third.
In addition, if we are thrashing a school, it would be our center pass, ok, go in. Then their center pass which would be intercepted at the first or second pass and we have to set up the down the line again. So we are practically attacking 97% of the time. Can go to Elysium...
So three cheers to the midfielders and attackers!

hey guys!!

well, we played against Yusof Ishak(is that the correct spelling???)today...well, what can i say..although they were not as good as us in terms of skills and experience, they had a strong fighting spirit which i saw frm their defenders coz they were defending me. i played as goal attack for the sacond last game.oh man it was so tiring! i didn't know that running back and forth between the centre-third, attacking third and the D could be so exhausting.well now i know how tired Li Hui must have felt. well that's all i have to say.

Hey people!
Well, the blog is getting a bit dead so decided to write some stuff. Btw, why is it always me?
We're playing against Cedar tomorrow. Do our best! And go lowder(lower and louder) !!!
Here's an interesting bit of information.
There's a tunnel in the prefect's room which leads to RI, so the senior prefects say. Cheryl and I tried to open it, but its kind of stuck and the door is on the floor. Weird. Anw, we're still wondering how they knew it led to RI.

Played P6 Combined Schools team today.

Yeah! We beat them but they are really worthy contenders.

And, we did the cheer before every quarter and Cheryl was saying that RI guys say that our cheers are artificially low, and are trying to be like them.

The concensus was that they are jealous of us because we can cheer lower than them.

Duh.

So tiring. After the friendly still must do a bit of Physical.

Firstly(like writing structured questions like that), I will like to start off by apologizing to all 105 netballers. I sort of got frustrated, especially for the 113 game, but more frustrated with myself. Coz we were tied, and at the last seconds, I shot, but the defender knocked into the pole and my shot went out. Then, we went overtime, just for that last shot, but I missed, and it was a super easy shot. We could have won if I had gotten the shot in, so i was definitely upset with myself.

Thus, the slamming of the ball into the ground, not angry with you guys(or girls).
On a more light hearted tone, we won second!!!! And we didn't even hand in our banner(we got zero for that category!) but we managed to still win overall second coz our netball team rock! Our shooters and cheerers were great too!

On another sad tone, 104(three netballers there, Shaina, Eunice and kim) was disqualified because they didn't know that their scorer could not play. This is extremely unfair for there was a certain class where one of them participated in all three categories, game, shooting, and cheering, and nothing happened to them. Just want to say that Eunice and Kim, both of you are great as usual, and Shaina, you're a super shooter(although you're a defender). However, Eunice was certainly disgusting when played against our class. She actually squeezed perspiration out of her hair right on court before the center pass! It was like squeezing a towel that you dump in the swimming pool for five mins. I thought that she puked or something.

Huiling was our team manager. Quite good lah. Okay, get me a needle. I just inflated her ego. Better deflate it fast!

Hey! Why nobody post one? The blog like dead... Just finished my gym routine proposal final draft. I did 4 DRAFTS for the group! Still waiting for Huiling to SMS me the name of the Evanescence song we're using for the fighting scene between Tybalt Capulet and Benvolio Montague. I did everything, so of course i get to decide who's what. Huiling's Juliet... When we handed in our proposal for 'peruse' today, mr Tan said that it was good, creative[duh! I did it=)] and he said he was looking forward to the bedroom scene. [Huiling glared at me and asked, 'How come i didn't know?] Minds running wild??? Its simply the Friar passing Juliet the 'poison' in her bedroom coz I had to improvise scenes. hello... we have only 2 mins or I'll have dumped in the entire lovey-dovey scene between R. and J. Huiling actually forced me to change the line whereby she says 'Yea Noise? - Then I'll be brief - O happy dagger!' into 'This is thy sheath; there rest, and let me die'
I got the highest in class for this descriptive compo where I describe dirt for nearly two paragraphs... coz I'm a fly in a junkyard. Post it when I bring it home.

I just watched The Great Science Challenge. Well, about 1/50 of it coz the others wanted to watch some fictional channel eight show and the other TV is spoilt. And, I was jumping all around, well cheering like mad over lines like...
'RGS was the only school able to get the plane through the hoop.'
'RGS flew the maximum distance...'
'Total score is 29/30'
Well, my cousins thought that I needed Woodbridge. But, it's school spirit and enthusiasm. What can 5, 8, 10 and 11 year olds understand? I don't care! I am going to get the TV next, next Wednesday. NO MATTER WHAT!!!!! My mum was saying that we are the only girls team and I was shouting that we're girl power or something. We were first, followed by ACS(I) and [i forgot already..., too excited!] The TV's mine. I realised that girls going for the GSC, were all from girls school. All the co-ed schools so far are all represented by boys only.
Huiling and I went for inter-house basketball today. I had to play in 'B' Div coz not enough people. A sec 1, amidst sec 3s and 4s. Wow...how exciting. Nearly died, and hardly touched the ball other than missing shots and getting rebounds. Luckily our classroom was just beside the b.ball courts so we could go in, cool off, or get our water bottles through the windows as Lynn and Rachel were still inside.
I actually hurt my right thumb and my feet is aching right now, but the pain was worth it. Yeah...I got the sore thumb during the last game, coz decided that I was sick of simply standing there most of the time like a statue. Deflected one seniors' ball, went after it, caught it and it was snatched out of my hands by the same seniors. Went after her, jumped when the ball was in the air, and only managed to skim over it. [When I deflected the ball, it slammed into my thumb.]
At least I got a shot...
I realise I'm rather good in defence...
[ego...]
I would have grumbled more to Huiling on the way home, but when Huiling and I were walking back to our class, the super pro buckle senior who was the school basketball team capt or vice-capt, came up to me and gave me a high-five. That felt pretty good, to be acknowledged coz she was quite tao at first.
However, one or two of the Richard seniors were I think, quite irritated by me, coz i kind of decided to stick to them, and when a senior 'butted' me, I 'butted' back. [Hey! It was self-defence]
Yup, RGS rocks! [even though we eventually lost in the finals, we still rule.]

6th Asian netball Championships was yesterday. Only 5 sec 1s went!
Results...
1st: Singapore
2nd: Malaysia
3rd: Sri Lanka
4th: Thailand

Huiling complained that I was prejudiced towards Sri lanka, coz I cheered for Thailand alot more than Sri Lanka. But, I totally understood how the Thailand shooters felt. We're all not that tall, so of course we had to work ALOT harder to get the ball to shoot than to just stand there, jump, shoot. full stop.
For the finals, I got seriously pissed at the commentator. He practically blended with the surroundings, and i couldn't see him, go to him, and answer the question. When they announced the answer, which I knew, it was truly a moment of heartache... One comment for netball Singapore is that the commentators should wear hot pink. [regardless of the fact that he is a male]
Then I got irritated with the crowd. Every shot, every deflect, every catch was heavily puntuated with sound effects. *sighs* for the misses, 'defence! defence!' when the malaysians were in possession...etc. etc.
I admit that it is a commendable display of patriotism, however, they were infinitely applying alot of pressure on the players, and the shooter notably missed her first shot. Seriously, it was not her fault. Me, being one of the spectators, can already feel the taut tension. Much less her. Seriously, the players know better what to do than the spectators do. You can't deny that.
Well, after awhile, I got numb to the incessant cheers, and I think, so did the players. And, remembering one of my wishes of going to each of the screaming spectators, using a sharp needle and bursting their power stix, it was granted when the spectators themselves started stepping on the power stixs to most probably produce a highly punctuating sound effect of ' pop'
or simply to feel the adrenaline pulsing through their veins when they see the power stix going down/ feel the gust of wind in their leg hair or skin pore.
I must sound like a really unenthu person. But, seriously... Anyway, if singaporeans want to display their patriotism, they should have sang the national anthem more loudly. As in, there were some unexpected, unwelcome, unpatriotic bursts of laughter when the anthem was being played which simply displayed severe disrespect. Furthermore, we were not even twice as loud as the malaysian who are like...erm...about a hundred time less than us with regards to the number of people present.
If anyone happens to feel strongly about what I have just said, take it as meaningless mumbles from touche teenager. Thank you.
One hilarious aspect was when I SMSed Eunice the wrong results deliberately[An inspiration form Shaina]. She believed, and told her family as well as the people in her theory class, some of whom are netballers, the wrong results. She only realised it when she saw the news just now, called me, and berated me.
Huiling can continue on the other hilarious stuff...

Time to update... Had a mini 'carnival' today. Cheryl, Liting and I got to miss quite alot of the prefect workshop. But, missed the fun part...
The sec 1 team played against...
1) St Margaret's sec 1 team [they're good. They beat us by one the last time when they came to our school for friendly. But we beat them this time round. 8-2 or something]
2) Our own sec 2 seniors. [haha... We beat them, as usual...hahahahaha]
3) Northland sec [We beat them. Forgot the score.]
4) Pasir Ris Crest[yeah... beat them]
Was there anymore????

For St Margaret, it was the best game. Coz it was the first game and everyone was more enthu. And I made a super far shot[actually forced to one, coz Zhenjia was sandwiched by the GK and GD]
For Northland, Miss Tan threatened to chop off my finger in the middle of the game coz you know, I signalled to the one of the attackers to throw me a lob when I was actually sandwiched.
And later, she threatened to chop off Kim's legs for some reason, and when she started to talk about Eunice, Eunice volunteered to have her head chopped off...
Huiling is super blur. When I SMSed her after the prefect workshop, about the 6th Asian Netball Championships semifinals games that she was supposedly watching as i thought, she freaked coz she fell asleep and forgot about it.

Hey! Well, just returned from east coast park. We had a SL gathering. Tomorrow's our last day. Really treasured the fun we had today, so here's a 'song' modified, and dedicated to the SLs [I did it while waiting for the bus=)]

Teacher's Day Today!!! I kind of messed up the dance finale... Went back to primary school to visit the teachers and meet up with pri sch friends. Stupid Shien(alliteration, now in Anglican High) go and pull my bag and I fell flat on the floor! So embarrasing...infront of the P1s. The whole group of us decided to play basketball, like last time [the good, old times...]. Perspired like mad and Hui lin(Chung Cheng High(main) was boasting that her school beat RI for 'C' Div Basketball Championships and saying that one of the RI players was rough and injure two of their star players blah...blah....blah...

Hey! Had training today. Gave the teachers- in-charge of netball and our coach teachers' day presents. Miss Chung(coach) received a Adidas watch. Miss Tan got socks and towels... plus...[ can't tell yet. It was inserted inside the nike/adidas[cannot remember] towel. Then, we gave Miss Tina Chng a set of perfume and er......a set of bikini. The seniors ran out of scotch tape so her present had a weird sticker on it. OK. Back to Miss Tan. She received... a G-string. Same colour etc. as Miss Chng's.
Tomorrow's Teacher's Day Concert. Yeah! The SLs will be dancing. My class can't wait. You know, see me dance...
Eunice told us this funny/ironic thing today.
There was this RI guy, he was late for school. So, he decided to climb over the school fence. [There was a brick wall closeby]. Then, he got stuck at the top of the fence for 5 min and was only able to get down when the security guard saw him. The security guard brought him to the General Office and took a picture of the hole in his shirt. The ironic thing is that the RI guy is in GEP. This happens to be true. As Eunice says...
Then, during the nextbreak, Eunice asked Cheryl, to say, 'I've never regretted joining netball' so that she can write it down for her Ebglish PT. Then Miss tan, overhearing it said,"Wow pre-set one ah!" Then she said something about it being low(?) and refused to accept Eunice's request for her to say that the girls have improved alot or something.

Yeah!!!! Li Ting, Cheryl and I get to miss Physical Training tomorrow!!! O.K. part of it. Thanks to the Teachers' Day rehearsal. The Term 2 SLs got in. Today's holiday, but still have to go back to school for SL practice. Uugh! One of the SLs mixed up me and Li Ting's name. Luckily Huiling is not a T2 SL. Otherwise, even more confusion.*Sigh* studying for math now.

Hey people!!! Just thought that I should update the blog. Thursday's training was pretty fun! Except for Physical Training of course. We really shuold get more links, worse come to worse, we'll just link Raffles Institution Netball (really the worse-case scenario...) Uugh! My shoulder skin is starting to "flake". Yuck! Well... at least not as bad as Huiling's. She'll shout at you when you touch her shoulder, which I slapped quite a few times today, earning glares from her. Anw, I still don't get what Miss Chuan was talking about for theory, neither does Huiling. *sigh* OK. That's it then, bye!!!!!

Oops... Sorry people! Huiling and I created the blog during Computer Studies so had no time to make it really nice! But, we will make it really cool soon. Anyway, still got nothing to say. Maybe on Thursday will have something to say after the inter-house competition. And, definitely something to say after Pesta Sukan. Maybe we should tell Miss Chung that to come here to read the netball journals instead of us writing it down on paper... Anyway, today's NDP concert was cool right. My class won! Yeah!
